How do I install PriceCloak?
Install PriceCloak from the Shopify App Store, then open it from your Shopify admin under Apps. From there you can turn on price hiding and add the Request a Quote button to your storefront.
How does price hiding work?
PriceCloak adds a theme app embed that makes the hide decision when the page renders, so on standard themes the price is hidden before the browser paints it. Prices and Add to Cart are hidden on product, collection and search pages, and an active leak monitor watches your storefront for anything a custom theme slips through. For the strongest cover, source removal takes the number out of Shopify's product data entirely. Enable the PriceCloak embed in your theme, and choose where hiding applies.
Can someone still find the price in the page source?
It depends which mode you use. Theme-level hiding keeps the price off the page, but Shopify still serves the number through its own product endpoints, so a developer who inspects them can recover it. That is true of any theme-level approach. For the products where that matters, use Remove prices at the source on the Hide prices page: it moves the real price into your own private field and leaves Shopify's public data with only a placeholder. Note that Shopify's own analytics payload is outside any app's control, and copies cached elsewhere (Google, feeds) are too.
How do customers request a quote?
PriceCloak adds a clean Request a Quote button and popup to your product pages. When a visitor submits it, the request lands in your PriceCloak inbox in the Shopify admin and we email you straight away.
A quote request didn't arrive by email — what should I check?
First check your spam or junk folder. Quote notifications are sent to your store's contact email in your Shopify settings, so make sure that address is correct. The request is always saved in your PriceCloak inbox in the admin even if the email is delayed. Still stuck? Email us and we will look into it.
How do I turn a quote into an order?
Open a quote in your PriceCloak inbox and create a Shopify draft order from it in one click, then send it to the customer for payment. One-click draft orders are a Pro feature.
What is included in Free vs Pro?
Free includes price hiding, price-leak monitoring, the Request a Quote button and popup, your quote inbox, email notifications, and a generous monthly quote allowance. Pro adds unlimited quotes, one-click draft orders, and the price-leak report. You can see current pricing on the app's listing and manage your plan from inside the app.
How do I cancel or uninstall?
You can remove PriceCloak from your Shopify admin under Apps at any time. After you uninstall, your data is kept for about 48 hours (so an accidental uninstall does not lose your hidden-price records) and is then permanently deleted when Shopify issues its store-redaction request. Email us and we will delete it sooner.
How do I request access to or deletion of data?
Merchants can email us and we will handle it. Shoppers who submitted a quote should contact the store they submitted it to; if you email us, we will route your request to that store. See our Privacy Policy for details.
